  • Rainbow Village is a former veterans' settlement turned by self-taught painter Huang Yung-fu into a vivid quarter covered in bright murals.
  • The National Taichung Theatre, designed by Toyo Ito, is a contemporary building with cave-like flowing interiors and a symbol of the city's new face.
  • Fengjia Park and the eponymous night market form Taiwan's largest night market with thousands of stalls, particularly popular with students.
  • The old Lin Family Mansion at Wufeng and the Jixian Garden are an example of classic Qing-dynasty architecture in the outskirts of Taichung.
